An Assembly for K-5th Grade
Actress, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, has been in several blockbusters over the past twenty five years including, Men in Black, Forrest Gump, Going In Style, Holes, Charlotte’s Web, Baby Mama, New In Town, and the newly released, Going in Style. Her television credits include SNL, Seinfeld and many more.
Siobhan wrote the children’s book, Suzy the Scene, after collaborating with illustrator, Lori Desmond Oakes, in 2016. Peter the Polluter is fresh off the press after Oakes convinced Fallon Hogan to write a book about the environment. Oakes’ illustrations are incredible and include the use of recycled material.
At the request of local schools in their hometown of Rumson, N.J., they began giving assemblies to teach children about the process of writing and illustrating books. Fallon Hogan explains to the students how her life as an actress influenced her writing Suzy the Scene and Lori tells how she was inspired by her environmentally aware son to illustrate a book about our planet.
Both books are hilarious, beautifully illustrated and send a poignant message. Peter inspires children to respect their planet, while Suzy teaches that inside every child is a champion with a giant gift. This 45 minute presentation includes a reading, improvisation, tales of an actress, demonstrations by a fabulous illustrator and a book signing.
